Government, First Nations agree to work together on future of health authority.
The Yukon government says it’s pausing its proposal to potentially scrap plans for a new health authority aimed at improving healthcare for Indigenous people in the territory – at least for now.
Premier Currie Dixon told reporters at a quarterly forum meeting between the government and First Nations leadership on May 8 that it agreed to requests from First Nations not to repeal or make further amendments to the Health Authority Act in the fall.
