Tuberculosis screening clinics in Arviat are coming to an end, but “focused” screenings at the community’s health centre will continue.

The Department of Health announced the change June 13 in a public service announcement.

Residents are encouraged to visit the local health centre for testing and treatment.

The department declared an outbreak in the hamlet in February and began “targeted screening” for the disease. By April, the health department switched gears and began a community-wide screening clinic.
