TRU professor appointed to First Nations Health Authority – Kamloops This Week

Sheila Blackstock, a member of the Gitxsan First Nation, is an associate teaching professor at the TRU’s School of Nursing who is currently working on her PhD.

A Thompson Rivers University professor has been appointed to the B.C.’s First Nations Health Authority board of governors to represent the Interior region.

Sheila Blackstock, a member of the Gitxsan First Nation, is an associate teaching professor at the TRU’s School of Nursing who is currently working on her PhD.

Her research interests include Indigenous health, workplace bullying and community and occupational health.

Blackstock has more than 32 years of nursing experience, working in leadership positions and in rural and regional Indigenous nursing practice in specialty areas, community health and occupational health nursing.
