A Conversation with Dani Roulette on HSC’s Good Medicine Book Club

Stories are powerful. They can bring us together, deepen our understanding of one another, and guide our path forward. As the facilitator of HSC’s Good Medicine Book Club, Dani Roulette shares the power of Indigenous storytelling and holds space for staff as they navigate their own reconciliation journeys.

I attended the first session of the year, which focused on In Search of April Raintree by Beatrice Mosionier. Like many Manitobans, I first read the story of the Raintree sisters in high school. It’s an intense read that I found hard to revisit, but with Dani’s guidance throughout our discussion, it became easier to carry the weight of this story and make meaning of it.
