The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced a recall for the Alarjawi brand Royal Zaatar recalled due to possible salmonella contamination.
The affected product is the Alarjawi Royal Zaatar, 450 g, UPC: 6 212055 036239, and the code: is P: 29/04/2025 E: 28/10/2026 K1.
The impacted product was sold in multiple provinces including Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
“Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,” the notice posted Friday says.
Symptoms of salmonella include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Serious complications may include severe arthritis.
