Indigenous communities to receive 1.2B to help fight against COVID-19 pandemic – SaultOnline.com

In an announcement made today from Indigenous Services Minister Marc Miller, $1.2 billion will be provided as new funding to help Indigenous communities keep continue to the fight against pandemic.

This includes, $380 million to help elders, address food insecurity and support initiatives to help limit the spread.

Of this, $630 million for Indigenous communities will be able to hire additional staff, buy personal protective equipment and adapt existing facilities to deal with the pandemic.
