Health Canada has issued advisories of three more pistachio recalls so far this week, the latest in a string of more than three dozen amid an ongoing salmonella outbreak linked to the nuts.
The department on Monday published a recall for two types of Premier Nuts Enterprises Ltd. pistachio products sold in Alberta and British Columbia due to potential salmonella contamination.
The following day, Health Canada published an expanded recall for 10 additional pistachio products sold in Alberta, B.C. and online, after “information was identified during the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s food safety investigation” into the outbreak.
“This recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results,” the department said on its website. “There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.”
The latest pistachio recall came on Wednesday, when Health Canada issued an advisory warning of potential salmonella contamination in bags of green pistachios sold from Aug. 19 to Oct. 21 of this year at Ottawa Roastery on Lamira Street in Ottawa.
