First of its kind mental health model supports Black and Indigenous Youth – CityNews

A celebration Thursday night of provincial cash helping support the mental health of local Black and Indigenous youth.
In 2023, just over $333,000 was given to four Ontario-based Black and Indigenous-led youth groups with support from Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health.
Those groups included the Healing of the Seven Generations, the African Community Wellness Initiative, Kind Minds Family Wellness, and African Family Revival Organization.
Thursday night, those organizations boasted the success of the grant over the last three years in which they have been able to develop a “trauma-informed, non-police crisis response” model for supporting Black and Indigenous youth.
