Cold Water for Clean Water meant to raise awareness of ongoing contaminated water issues in communities across Canada
A campaign to raise public awareness of water problems faced by residents of First Nation communities took to the icy waters of Elliot Lake today.
The campaign, Cold Water for Clean Water and spearheaded by Jordan Cheff, is meant to raise awareness of contaminated water endured by residents in indigenous communities across Canada which have been ongoing for years and in one community has meant residents have had to boil their water for the past 25 years. Some 90 First Nation communities have been impacted by contaminated drinking water and poor sanitation systems.
