Working together to strengthen health care in Nunavut

Press Release

December 17, 2025

The office of patient relations is a confidential and supportive resource where Nunavummiut can share their health-care experiences. Whether individuals have a question about the care they received, or a concern, the patient relations team is available to help.

Staff can assist with navigating the health-care system, addressing service concerns and collaborating with Department of Health personnel to help resolve issues and improve the quality of care.

Feedback from the public plays an important role. Sharing positive experiences helps identify what is working well and where strengths lie. Just as importantly, sharing negative experiences allows Health to address concerns and improve care throughout Nunavut.

Patients are encouraged to contact the office of patient relations directly, but other individuals such as family members, substitute decision makers, members of the legislative assembly or community representatives may also reach out on their behalf.

Whether the experience was positive or did not meet expectations, the office of patient relations is available to listen and provide support.

To share your experience, please contact 1-855-438-3003 or email patientrelations@gov.nu.ca. For more information visit the Government of Nunavut website.
