Wildfire at Pavilion Reserve Prompts Evacuation Alert from Ts’kw’aylaxw First Nation – CFNR Network

Apr 19, 2023

A wildfire at the Pavilion Reserve has prompted an evacuation alert from the Ts’kw’aylaxw First Nation.

That fire was discovered south east of Skwish Creek yesterday afternoon, and has since grown to cover roughly 20 hectares.

An evacuation alert is not a call to evacuate, but rather a warning for residents to prepare in case an order is issued.

Residents are advised to: pack essential items such as ID and medication, prepare to move elderly family, children, and livestock, and to plan a designated meeting area.

Anyone wishing to evacuate ahead of time due to smoke or health concerns should go to the Nation’s gymnasium at 35100 Highway 99 North to register.
