Whooping cough vaccination – Hall Beach

As part of the Department of Health’s enhanced efforts to prevent the spread of whooping cough, residents of Hall Beach are advised that all pregnant women in their last trimester, and the members of their households, should make sure their vaccines are up to date.

Parents of children under the age of two and Nunavummiut planning to travel outside their community are also encouraged to make sure their vaccines are up to date.

Vaccination against whooping cough is available for children and adults by appointment at your local health centre.

Watch for symptoms of whooping cough:

  • a cough followed by an unusual “whoop” sound or a funny sounding cough
  • vomiting after coughing or not breathing after coughing
