What’s the latest?

Public health experts in eastern Ontario say better-than-expected vaccination rates are helping much of the region avoid the worst-case scenarios laid out by provincial COVID-19 modelling at the beginning of this month — but with one notable exception in Cornwall.

Ottawa’s temporary COVID-19 test site at the McNabb Recreation Centre on Percy Street will now stay open until at least Oct. 6.

Leeds, Grenville and Lanark counties announced Tuesday that 90 per cent of its eligible population is fully vaccinated, saying it’s the first health unit in the province to do so.
