There are no longer any provincial capacity and gathering limits in Ontario, nor are there any provincial proof-of-vaccination rules. The chief medical officer of health said two weeks ago that “We have the level of protection we need to remove public health restrictions.”

Businesses can choose to require proof. A vaccine mandate for long-term care staff and visitors remains for now.

Ottawa Public Health says it is not planning any local COVID-19 measures to take their place. Its medical officer of health said it will shift to encouraging people to practice “individual risk assessment and risk mitigation.”

Psychologists say there won’t be a one-size-fits-all approach to this, but here’s what they recommend.

Western Quebec’s health authority says slowing demand for vaccines means it will permanently close its Buckingham vaccine clinic April 2 and the clinic at Gatineau’s Palais des Congrès May 14.
