Ottawa Public Health is the latest health unit in the region to again pivot and to allow anyone eligible for a first, second or third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to just drop in to a clinic to try to increase vaccine uptake.

A rehab patient recovering from spinal surgery at The Ottawa Hospital is worried about his recovery if the gymnasium he and fellow patients use for treatment is needed to house overflow patients.

All adults can now make third vaccine dose appointments in Quebec once enough time has passed since their second. There’s also the local option of trying to get a walk-in spot at Gatineau’s Palais des Congrès.

Moderately to severely immunocompromised Ontarians are now able to receive a fourth vaccine dose to boost their protection as long as it has been at least 84 days past their third dose and they bring certain documents..

As a pandemic-weary country confronts another wave of COVID-19 cases with a strained health care system, Health Canada is looking at new products that could offer some relief for the infected: antiviral treatments.
