6th wave causing hospital problems, mask mandates extended
Apr 25, 2022
As the sixth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic continues, hospitals caring for the country’s youngest patients are facing both high patient volumes and high levels of staff off sick.
A growing number of workers are returning to the office at the same time as they’re dealing with the impact of inflation making that return more expensive.
Provincial plans to ease mask mandates this week have been delayed because of how much COVID is spreading: Quebec to at least May 14 and Ontario to at least June 11.
Some federal travel rules around border testing and quarantine plans have eased as of today.
