The Government of Nunavut is aware of recent charges against a Clyde River teacher involving child sexual abuse. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of children and families.
Immediate action was taken as soon as the accusations were brought to light, and the accused is no longer working at the school.
We encourage everyone to support each other during this time, respect the privacy of those directly involved, and refrain from speculation.
We are actively involved in ensuring appropriate supports and protections are in place. We encourage anyone affected to reach out for help.
School and Community Mental Health Support Services & Programs
Summit Counselling and School Support has been contracted by the Department of Education to provide on-going virtual and in-person mental health support services for Quluaq School in Clyde River. A team of school mental health consultants is available.
