Wasauksing First Nation to get $800,000 to help health-care teams address harm caused by residential schools

Wasauksing First Nation is to receive funding from the province to enhance culture-based mental health services for Indigenous people who are experiencing pain, loss and intergenerational trauma as a result of the residential school system.

The community was among eight of 20 member organizations of the Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC) chosen by the Ontario government to receive $800,000 for their Indigenous health-care teams.
