VANCOUVER—Funding for a long-standing support program for Indigenous people in Vancouver living with HIV will be changing hands, and some advocates fear that vulnerable people will fall through the cracks.
Vancouver Coastal Health has announced they have chosen a new service provider for a contract that had gone to Vancouver Native Health Society’s Positive Outlook Program for the past two decades. After putting out a call for proposals and reviewing applications, the Urban Indigenous Health and Healing Cooperative was selected to run the new VCH Relational HIV Care Treatment and Support Program, which will replace Positive Outlook.
