“There’s a need for culturally safe vaccination clinics, especially here in this province where we’ve seen that Indigenous people have been, time and time again, faced with systemic racism, direct racism, in different health-care situations,” said Philippe Tsaronséré Meilleur, the general director of Native Montreal, one of the groups involved in the project. “Of course, the story of Joyce Echaquan can echo that.”

Three COVID-19 vaccination sites for Indigenous people ages 18 and over are opening in Montreal with the goal of offering safe spaces adapted to the needs of the community.
