TNG: March 24, 2020 – COVID -19 Update #6

Press Release

March 24, 2020

TNG remains committed to keeping our employees and the communities we serve safe.

Therefore, we are sharing the following information.

As of March 24, 2020, there are no confirmed cases in Williams Lake or the Tŝilhqot’in communities. However, the virus continues to spread across British Columbia and we are calling on everyone to do their part to stop the spread of this virus. Today, BC reported 617 confirmed cases in British Columbia, 41 are in the Interior Health region and 9 are in Northern Health region. BC is now administering 3,500 tests a day.

As a precaution to help stop the spread of COVID-19, TNG has closed its offices to the public but we continue to work remotely from home for the Tŝilhqot’in Nation and communities.

TNG is also extending its cancellation/ postponement notice regarding Nation events, community and in-person meetings until after April 7th. This will be re-evaluated and extended further if necessary.

Stay Home and Stay Safe. We encourage people to stay at home with their family (or outdoors away from others) and only leave if it is essential. By staying home and self-isolating you not only could stop or slow the spread of the virus, but save lives.

NEW Self Assessment App

Along with being able to check symptoms online, residents in British Columbia can now download a new self-assessment app https://bc.thrive.health/
