Press Release
March 18, 2020
Our continued response to COVID-19.
TNG remains committed to keeping our employees and the communities we serve safe. Therefore, we are sharing the following information.
Yesterday, March 17, 2020, The B.C. government suspended all schools in the province until further notice to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Daycare and childcare remain open, although the B.C. Government stated that the status of childcare is subject to change.
If you are experiencing symptoms of the COVID-19 (fever, coughing and difficulty breathing), DO NOT go to the ER. You can take the self assessment (https://covid19.thrive.health) to determine whether you need further assessment or testing. After taking the self assessment, please call your health care provider or 8-1-1 to further assess if you need testing. Only a healthcare professional can refer you to the community testing station.
It is important that you stay home and self-isolate if you are experiencing symptoms, or you have been exposed to the illness.
The purpose of self-isolation is to avoid contact with other people so as not to infect them. This action helps prevent the spread of the illness to others. Public health authorities have recommended a self-isolation period of 14 days.
What it means to self-isolate:
