Our continued response COVID-19

TNG remains committed to keeping our employees and the communities we serve safe.

Therefore, we are sharing the following information.

Confirmed Cases

As the virus continues to spread throughout BC and Canada, we are calling on everyone to do their part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by continuing to practice social distancing and following the guidelines set up by the province and the health authorities. The number of confirmed cases reported are as follows;

August 21, 2020

Total new cases: 90
Total cases in BC: 4,915
Total recoveries: 3,889 (824 active cases)
Total deaths: 202
In Self-isolation: 2,594

August 24, 2020

Total new cases: 269
Total cases in BC: 5,184
Total recoveries: 4,068 (913 active cases)
Total deaths: 203
Total cases in Interior Health region: 425
Total cases in Northern Health region: 127
In Self-isolation: 2,594

On Friday, August 21, BC announced new enforcement measures which included fines to people hosting or attending gatherings of 50 or more.

Event hosts and property owners could face financial penalties of $2,000, while people who are aggressive or refuse to disperse when asked to do so can be fined $200.

The Health Office is open regular hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. The Health staff will also be making visits to community where needed.
