The Ontario Cancer Care team hosted the Aajiiqatigiinniq Event

The Ontario Cancer Care team at Tungasuvvingat Inuit hosted the Aajiiqatigiinniq Event today, February 21st, 2025 at St. Margaret’s Church in Vanier! The session was a chance for participants to let the Cancer care team share their feedback about the program.

26 participants attended, and let the team know what worked well and how can the program improve to serve the Inuit community here in Ottawa. The morning was spent engaging the community with questions about the program. Everyone then enjoyed a delicious caribou stew with palauga for lunch. During lunch a captivating throat singing performance by Charlotte Qamaniq and Cynthia Pitsiulak was enjoyed. After lunch participants got polar bear and seal alabaster carving kits to make and canvases for painting.

Participants were invited to take some shirts, bags and notebooks from the swag table. Door prizes we given out throughout the event, with the grand prize of a sewing machine drawn at the end.
