Consumer Price Index, August 2020
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.1% on a year-over-year basis in August, matching the increase in July. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.1% in August, up from a 0.1% decline in July.
Canada’s international transactions in securities, July 2020
Non-resident investors reduced their holdings of Canadian securities by $8.5 billion in July. Meanwhile, Canadian investors acquired $1.3 billion of foreign securities, down considerably from a $10.6 billion investment in June.
Over 6 in 10 youth used a condom the last time they had sex
According to the 2015 and 2016 cycles of the Canadian Community Health Survey, an estimated 54% of 15- to 24-year-olds (2.2 million) reported having had sexual intercourse in the previous 12 months, and 60% reported having used a condom the last time they had sex.
Operating revenues rise in natural gas pipeline transportation and distribution industry
The Canadian natural gas pipeline transportation and distribution industry posted total operating revenues of $17.3 billion in 2018, up 1.8% compared with 2017. Total operating expenses decreased 2.5% from the previous year to $13.1 billion in 2018. As a result, the net revenue from operations was $4.2 billion.
