Canada’s international investment position, second quarter 2025
Canada’s net foreign asset position—the difference between Canada’s international financial assets and international liabilities—increased by $42.8 billion to $1,855.7 billion at the end of the second quarter.
Proud to be Canadian: Pride and sense of belonging in 2025
In the spring of 2025, 78% of Canadian citizens reported being proud or very proud to be Canadian, up from 74% in the fall of 2024. A similar trend was observed among non-citizens, with 76% of non-citizens expressing they were proud or very proud to live in Canada—up from 68% in the fall of 2024.
Leading indicator of international arrivals to Canada, August 2025
In August 2025, the preliminary number of international arrivals to Canada (returning Canadian residents and non-residents combined) by air and automobile was 6.6 million, down 14.9% from August 2024. This was the seventh consecutive month of year-over-year declines.
