Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, August 2025
Manufacturing sales decreased 1.0% in August, driven largely by lower sales in the transportation equipment and food subsectors.
Wholesale trade, August 2025
Wholesale sales (excluding petroleum, petroleum products, and other hydrocarbons and excluding oilseed and grain) declined 1.2% to $85.4 billion in August.
New motor vehicle sales, August 2025
There were 167,017 new motor vehicles sold in Canada in August, increasing 0.5% from August 2024. In dollar terms, sales decreased 1.7% in August 2025. Sales of new passenger cars increased 1.0% from one year earlier, the third consecutive monthly increase for this subsector. There were also more sales of trucks (+0.4%).
Health Reports, October 2025
Oral health is an important component of overall health, yet its relationship with general health outcomes is not fully understood. A new study, “Missing teeth, mortality, and hospitalization: A population-based cohort analysis from the Canadian Health Measures Survey and linked databases,” explores this link by analyzing data from the Canadian Health Measures Survey (2007 to 2009), which were linked to death and hospital discharge records. The study investigates whether tooth loss is associated with increased risks of mortality and hospitalization.

Traffic Flow Dashboard
Statistics Canada has launched the Traffic Flow Dashboard as a source of experimental statistics to provide information on the traffic flow on selected road segments in the cities of Calgary and Toronto.
