Consumer Price Index, October 2022
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 6.9% on a year-over-year basis in October, matching the increase in September. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI increased 0.6% in October.
High-income Canadians, 2020
Average total income of Canadians in the top 1% of income fell by $5,500 to $512,000 in 2020. This analysis highlights the impacts of the economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on high-income Canadians using the 2020 Longitudinal Administrative Databank.
Individuals with chronic conditions were more likely to experience difficulties accessing health care services during the pandemic than those without chronic conditions
Individuals with chronic conditions have higher levels of health care usage and may be at higher risk of more severe outcomes from COVID-19. Consequently, they may have experienced greater difficulty accessing health care during the COVID-19 pandemic because of restrictions on health care services.
Amusement and recreation industry, 2021
Businesses in the amusement and recreation subsector were hit hard by COVID-19-related closures and restrictions in 2020. In 2021, amusement- and recreation-related businesses continued to experience operational challenges during successive waves of the pandemic. While this subsector had a 1.9% increase in operating revenue in 2021, the extent of the recovery varied across industries. Industries whose busiest season is in the summer or that can maintain outdoor operations fared better in 2021 than industries that are busier in the winter or whose operations are primarily indoors.
Electricity supply and disposition, 2021
The total amount of electricity generated in Canada decreased by 1.3% to 625.9 million megawatt-hours (MWh) in 2021, a drop of 8.0 million MWh from the previous year.

In 2021, electric utility thermal plants in Canada generated 180.6 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity, declining slightly (-1.0% or -1.9 million MWh) from 2020.
