National tourism indicators, fourth quarter 2023
Tourism spending in Canada grew 2.3% in the fourth quarter, following a 0.1% decline in the third quarter. Annually, tourism spending rose 13.5% in 2023 after increasing 50.4% in 2022. Tourism gross domestic product rose 2.5% in the fourth quarter of 2023 and was up 9.5% annually.

Dairy statistics for January are now available for Canada and the provinces.
Poultry and egg statistics, March 2024
Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats, as well as edible dried egg products, are now available for March 2024. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for February 2024, and data on egg production are available for January 2024.
Canada’s population estimates: Strong population growth in 2023
Since the end of 2020, demographic trends in Canada have shifted significantly. The fertility rate reached a record low of 1.33 children per woman in 2022. Millennials now outnumber baby boomers in Canada and the labour market has changed, with some sectors experiencing shortages. Many permanent and temporary immigrants came to Canada, including many workers and international students.
Selected Diversity Indicators in Canadian Municipalities, 2021
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing an interactive dashboard that allows users to visualize selected Diversity indicators for Canadian municipalities. It presents the most recent data available from the Census of Population for census subdivisions.

The expansion and changing characteristics of the Provincial Nominee Program
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) was introduced in all Canadian provinces (except Quebec) and most territories in the period from 1998 to 2005. It was designed primarily to distribute more immigrants outside the three largest Canadian cities and to help meet the workforce needs of employers in the provinces and territories.
