Canadian Coroner and Medical Examiner Database, January 2006 to March 2026

Today, Statistics Canada is releasing new data from the Canadian Coroner and Medical Examiner Database (CCMED). The CCMED is a database developed at Statistics Canada in collaboration with the provincial and territorial Chief Coroners and Chief Medical Examiners and the Public Health Agency of Canada. The CCMED combines information from 12 provincial and territorial databases to provide national level information on the circumstances related to deaths reported to and investigated by coroners and medical examiners.

Today, Statistics Canada is releasing data on students from Canadian colleges and universities (cohorts of 2014 to 2023) by Indigenous identity and racialized group. This release includes information on the number of Canadian new students, enrolled students and graduates by Indigenous identity and racialized group, educational qualification, field of study, age group and gender. Data are available at the national, provincial and territorial levels.
