Real gross domestic product grew 0.2% in November, with goods-producing industries increasing 0.6% and services-producing industries edging up 0.1%.
Study: What is the connection between working from home and the languages used at work?
Working from home increased significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost 1 in 4 Canadian workers (24.3%) worked from home at the time of the 2021 Census of Population, compared with less than 1 in 10 workers (7.4%) at the time of the 2016 Census.
Canada’s fertility rate reaches an all-time low in 2022
The total fertility rate (TFR) observed in Canada in 2022 (1.33 children per woman) is the lowest recorded over more than a century of data. Although the downward trend began in 2009, it accelerated in 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The decrease became even more pronounced in 2022, after the TFR posted a slight increase in 2021.
Cancer incidence in Canada, 2021
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing new and updated data on cancer incidence from the Canadian Cancer Registry. The two tables include information on cancer cases diagnosed from 1992 to 2021, available by cancer types, geographic regions, age groups and sex.
Poultry and egg statistics, January 2024
Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats, as well as edible dried egg products, are now available for January 2024. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for December 2023, and data on egg production are available for November 2023.
