Comparing weekly earnings of Canadian-born individuals in designated visible minority and White categories
Among Canadian-born individuals aged 25 to 44, the weekly earnings of men in 4 of 10 designated visible minority categories were significantly lower than those of men identified as White. The largest differences were observed among men who identified as Black or Latin American.
Experiences of violent victimization among persons with mental health-related disabilities in Canada, 2018
In 2018, persons with mental health-related disabilities were three times more likely than those without disabilities to report that they had been physically or sexually assaulted in the previous 12 months. Persons with mental health-related disabilities were also more likely than those with disabilities not related to mental health and those without disabilities to report that they spoke to someone other than the police, or that they contacted or used victim services for help following an experience of violent victimization in the previous 12 months.

Food services and drinking places, November 2021
On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales in the food service and drinking places subsector increased 1.0% to $6.4 billion in November 2021 compared with the previous month. Sales rose at full-service restaurants (+1.5%), special food services (+4.6%) and limited service eating places (+0.1%). However, sales remained unchanged at drinking places (-0.0%).
Urban public transit, November 2021
In November, ridership on Canada’s urban transit networks continued to grow, reaching 89.4 million passenger trips, the highest level since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
New motor vehicle registrations, third quarter 2021
Canadians registered 446,620 new motor vehicles in the third quarter of 2021, down 8.2% from the second quarter. This also represents a decline of 12.2% from the third quarter of 2020, with a peak of 508,642 new registrations, while in previous years new registrations peak in the second quarter. Dealerships were closed for half of the second quarter of 2020, as Canada dealt with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Less new passenger cars (-10.0%), pickup trucks (-32.3%), multipurpose vehicles (-2.2%) and vans (-31.3%) were registered in the third quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter in 2020.

Wholesale trade: Early indicator, December 2021
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale trade sector for December. The advance results for December indicate that wholesale sales were unchanged. Gains in the personal and household goods subsector were offset by lower sales in the food, beverage and tobacco products subsector.
