Police resources in Canada, 2023

On May 15, 2023, there were 71,472 police officers across all Canadian police services, 892 more than on the same date in 2022. The rate of police strength in 2023 was 178 officers per 100,000 population, down almost 2% from 2022.

Aircraft movement and civil aviation statistics, January 2024

In January, aircraft movements at Canada’s major and select small airports totalled 317,569, down 5.9% from January 2023. Local movements fell 15.7% year over year to 79,012, while itinerant movements declined 2.1% to 238,557.

Wholesale trade: Early indicator, February 2024

Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale trade sector for February. The advance results for February indicate that wholesale sales (excluding petroleum, petroleum products, other hydrocarbons and oilseed and grain) rose 0.8%. The increase reflects higher sales in the machinery, equipment and supplies subsector, the motor vehicle and motor vehicle parts and accessories subsector and the building material and supplies subsector.
