Securities statistics, second quarter 2022

Net borrowings by Canadian corporations and governments in the form of debt securities, such as bonds, Treasury bills and commercial paper, totalled $89.5 billion in the second quarter, the fifth consecutive quarter for which new issues exceeded retirements. Canadian chartered banks led this activity.
