Building permits, August 2020
The total value of building permits rose 1.7% to $8.1 billion in August, driven by an increase in the residential sector in Ontario and Quebec.
Survey of Non-Bank Mortgage Lenders, first quarter 2020
The growth in the value of residential mortgage loans extended by non-banks decelerated 12.9% to $35.1 billion during the first quarter. This was likely due to the seasonality of mortgage lending, as there are generally fewer mortgage closings during the winter months. The total number of mortgages extended also decreased to 142,783—a deceleration of 12.2%.

An updated set of preliminary data on the number of confirmed novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases reported by provincial and territorial public health authorities to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is now available. Along with this dataset are two aggregated tables that summarize the information available in the dataset. The updated information covers the period from January 15 to September 27, 2020.

Lumber production decreased 7.4% from June to 4 491.1 thousand cubic metres in July. Production was 1.5% higher than in July 2019.
Canadian Health Survey on Seniors, 2019
Two tables from the 2019 Canadian Health Survey on Seniors are now available. The tables contain information related to the health status, use of health care services and supports, as well as social and health determinants for the Canadian population aged 65 and older living in the 10 provinces. Data were collected from January 2, 2019 to December 24, 2019.
