In 2019, 15% of Canadians aged 15 to 19 reported having used a vaping device in the 30 days preceding the survey, compared with 3% of Canadians aged 25 and older. Younger users were also more likely than older users to vape for recreational purposes.

Measuring efficiency in the Canadian adult criminal court system: Criminal court workload and case processing indicators

The number of open cases in adult criminal court in Canada was at its highest in 2016/2017. This number fell by 6% in 2017/2018 in the wake of the Supreme Court’s R. v Jordan decision in 2016, which set out new time limits for completing criminal cases. Case completion rates have risen and court backlog has been reduced since that time.

Multimodal Safety and Security Programs Oversight Delivery Indicators, Transport Canada, second quarter 2019/2020

Transport Canada’s safety and security programs provide a broad range of activities. These include regulatory authorizations, such as the issuance of certificates and licenses to people, organizations or for equipment; compliance verifications through inspections and audits; and enforcement actions in response to non-compliance. They also include education and outreach activities targeting key stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, as well as the general public.
