Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, January 2024
Manufacturing sales rose 0.2% in January, mainly on higher sales of motor vehicles and chemical products. Meanwhile, production of aerospace product and parts posted the largest decline.
Fewer charitable donors, less money donated in 2022
Just under 5 million Canadian tax filers (17.1% of all tax filers) declared making charitable donations in 2022, 0.3% fewer than a year earlier, and total donations decreased to $11.4 billion (-3.1%).
Infrastructure economic account, 2023
With today’s release, estimates for investment in infrastructure, infrastructure stock and its remaining useful service life have been released for 2023, as well as its economic and environmental impacts. In addition, data for 2017 to 2022 have been updated. These estimates are consistent with the fourth quarter of 2023 release of the income and expenditure accounts this past February 29. The full time series, from 1981 to 2023, is now available in the data tables.
New motor vehicle sales, January 2024
New motor vehicle sales data for Canada and the provinces are now available for January. The New Motor Vehicle Sales Survey collects data on monthly sales (in dollars and units) of new motor vehicles in Canada by type of vehicle and by country or region of manufacture.
Provisional death counts, January 2021 to December 2023
Today’s release includes new and updated adjusted counts of death from the Canadian Vital Statistics Death Database, covering the period from January 3, 2021, to December 30, 2023.

Participation in regular French programs in Canada outside Quebec, 2021: Maps, key facts and data table
Today, Statistics Canada is publishing a booklet entitled, “Maps and key facts on participation in regular French programs in Canada outside Quebec, 2021,” at the municipal level (census subdivisions). A data table on instruction in the minority official language of eligible school-aged children by municipality of residence is also being published today. The results presented in this booklet and this data table come from the 2021 Census of Population.
