Access to postpartum health care and perinatal mental health support, 2024 Parental Experiences Survey
In 2024, 87% of mothers and birthing parents reported having a regular health care provider during the postpartum period. At the same time, 13% of all mothers and birthing parents experienced at least one unmet health care need after giving birth. These findings come from the 2024 Parental Experiences Survey, which provides new national data on access to postpartum and perinatal mental health care.
Book publishing industry, 2024
Operating revenue in the Canadian book publishers industry increased by 3.1% (+$51.6 million) from 2022 to $1.7 billion in 2024. However, growth was moderate compared with the strong gains seen from 2020 to 2022 (+8.5%; +$129.8 million) during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2024, the book publishers industry continued to benefit from sustained interest in digital reading formats and the influence of social media and the “BookTok” reading community.

In 2022, the average national direct plus indirect intensity of energy use for the Canadian economy was 3.75 gigajoules of energy per thousand current dollars of output. The corresponding average national direct plus indirect intensity of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions was 0.26 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents per thousand current dollars of output.
