Investment in building construction, August 2022
Investment in building construction increased 0.4% to $21.1 billion in August, with most of the gains coming from British Columbia. The residential sector rose 0.5% to $15.7 billion while the non-residential sector declined 0.2% to $5.3 billion.

These data are an extension of the release titled “Representation of women on boards of directors, 2019,” which highlights women directors in strategic decision-making roles in corporations conducting business in Canada.
New motor vehicle sales, August 2022
New motor vehicle sales data for Canada and the provinces are now available for August. The New Motor Vehicle Sales Survey collects data on monthly sales (in dollars and units) of new motor vehicles in Canada, by type of vehicle, and by country or region of manufacture.

Production of asphalt shingles totalled 3.7 million metric bundles in August, down 1.8% from July and up 17.3% from August 2021.
