Quarterly financial statistics for enterprises, third quarter 2025
Canadian corporations reported an operating profit of $200.0 billion in the third quarter, up $7.4 billion (+3.8%) from the previous quarter. This growth was driven by the financial industries, which outperformed the non-financial industries. Compared with one year earlier, Canadian corporations’ operating profit increased by $9.7 billion (+5.1%).
Primary health care access and experience among children and youth: Results from the 2024 Canadian Health Survey on Children and Youth
In 2024, nearly 9 in 10 (89%) children and youth living in the provinces had a primary health care provider. This is one of the Shared Health Priorities indicators that the Canadian Health Survey on Children and Youth is collecting, to report on children and youth aged 1 to 17 years.
Railway carloadings, September 2025
Canadian railways transported 31.3 million tonnes of freight in September, slightly below (-0.7%) September 2024 levels. Strong growth in carloadings of wheat and other cereal grains tempered a lower volume of freight traffic from US rail connections.
Food services and drinking places, September 2025
Total sales in the food services and drinking places subsector decreased 0.3% in September to $8.5 billion.
Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Advance indicator, October 2025
Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for October. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales decreased 1.1% in October. The largest decreases were in the chemical and wood product subsectors.
