Labour Force Survey, August 2024
Employment was little changed in August (+22,000; +0.1%) while the employment rate decreased 0.1 percentage points to 60.8%. The unemployment rate rose 0.2 percentage points to 6.6%.

Drug use in Canada has become a significant public health concern, with opioid use, addiction, and resulting deaths standing out as particularly pressing issues. In the context of the ongoing opioid crisis in many parts of Canada, wastewater data can provide information to contribute to a better understanding of current drug use and emerging trends.
Securities statistics, second quarter 2024
Net borrowings by Canadian corporations and governments in the form of debt securities totalled $27.2 billion in the second quarter, down from net issuances of $89.0 billion in the previous quarter. The activity in the second quarter was led by the government sector and by non-financial corporations, and it mainly reflected debt refinancing operations.
Farm Product Price Index, June 2024
The Farm Product Price Index (FPPI) fell 1.3% in June, compared with the same month a year earlier. This was the sixth consecutive year-over-year monthly decline and the smallest decrease since the beginning of 2024. The drop in the crops index was behind the FPPI decrease, as the price index for livestock and animal products rose in June.
