Investment in building construction, June 2022

Investment in building construction edged up 0.3% to $20.8 billion in June. Gains in the non-residential sector (+2.4%) helped keep overall investment up. The majority of strength for the month came from Ontario that reported gains in all building components.

Non-profit organizations in rural Canada, 2019

In 2019, there were over 130,000 non-profit organizations (NPOs) in Canada, of which, nearly one quarter (22.5%) were in rural Canada. Rural NPOs employed just over one tenth (11.6%) of all non-profit employees and were responsible for 7.3% of revenues generated.

An updated set of preliminary data on the number of confirmed novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases reported by provincial and territorial public health authorities to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is now available. Along with this dataset are two aggregated tables that summarize the information available in the dataset. The updated information covers the period from January 15, 2020, to August 7, 2022.
