Study: Volunteering counts: Formal and informal contributions of Canadians in 2018
Volunteers play an important role in maintaining community well-being and contributing to the overall Canadian economy. Their annual time commitments equalled more than 2.5 million full-time jobs in 2018.

Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Flash estimate, March 2021
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for March. Advance results indicate that manufacturing sales rose 3.5% in March. The increase is mostly attributable to higher sales in the transportation equipment and the petroleum and coal product industries.
Production and disposition of tobacco products, March 2021
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.9 billion cigarettes in March, up 16.5% from February 2021. Cigarette production was 15.5% higher compared with March 2020.

Data from the Monthly Mineral Production Survey and the Monthly Survey of Smelters and Metal Refineries are now available for February 2021.
Wholesale trade: Early indicator, March 2021
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale trade sector for March. The advance results for March indicate that wholesale sales rose 0.9%. The increase reflects higher sales in the building materials and supplies, and food, beverage and tobacco subsectors.
