“Good afternoon everyone, Before I begin, I’d like to thank the Creator for another beautiful day on Mother Earth, and for the strength within our community during this time. Tsawwassen First Nation is reporting one confirmed case of COVID-19 on Tsawwassen Lands. I want to remind our Members and nation that you are not alone. We have the resources we need for self-isolating and we are here to support you. Let’s be kind, calm and safe. We will not be shaming and blaming individuals who were exposed to COVID-19, as we are all in this together. If you have been identified as a COVID-19 case or close contact, be assured that Fraser Health’s public health team will contact you directly and provide further instruction. If you have any questions about contact tracing, please contact the Health and Social Services team. It’s important to note that Members and residents may also feel symptoms related to the wildfire smoke. The Health and Social Services team is available to Members to help distinguish between symptoms of wildfire smoke and COVID-19. They are also available for mental health supports, medical supports, and supports for self-isolation. Let us all move forward with kindness, respect and caution, and remember to wash our hands, practice physical distancing, wear masks in public spaces and follow public health advice. Please also remember to keep your bubbles as small as possible. Feel free to reach out to Katie Alexander, the Manager of Health and Social Services, if you have any questions or concerns at 604-833-2507. Please stay safe everyone. We will get through this together. hay čxʷ q̓ə, all my relations. “
