A leading Sudbury doctor will be lending her expertise to help improve the health of Canada’s First Nations, Inuit and Metis people.
Dr. Janet McElhaney will serve as a member of the Institute Advisory Board for Indigenous Peoples’ Health for Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
She is vice president of research and scientific director for the Health Sciences North Research Institute, and professor of medicine at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
“I am truly honoured to have received this invitation to serve on the IAB for Indigenous Peoples’ Health,” McElhaney said in a release. “I look forward to working with my colleagues from across the country to look at how we can improve the health of First Nations, Inuit and Metis people.”
