We’re over halfway in the Beefy Chiefs 2 Challenge and the top of the leaderboard is slowly starting to change. In December we had Gina from Vancouver Island & Jannette from the Interior fighting for the top spots in all three categories. These two have been very high in the leaderboards consecutively and continue to push each other to step it up.
While some of the familiar faces are still there, we’re starting to see newer faces at the top of the leaderboard, including Dan Modeste from the Fraser Region.
Dan was able to take over 1 million steps in December. That is an average of over 32,000 steps a day. We hope that he continues this and is able to inspire others from his region to do the same.
Kim Roberts, another who is familiar with the top of the leaderboard and is one of our first quarter winners, was the distance winner this month. She was able to walk 411km in December, the distance from Port Hardy to Lady Smith.
Carole Basil was the active minute winner for December. She has won this same prize last quarter except that she more than doubled her total. In August, she was active for 2012 minutes and in December she was active for 4110 minutes. This is a huge improvement and a great measurement of an increase in activity levels.
The forum prizes go to the following people:
In December, Irene Johnson from the Interior was very active in the forums. She continually updated the community on ways that she has improved her activity and starting to slowly cut out chocolate. Through Irene the group has seen the amount of steps one can get from not only walking but dancing. Thank you for your posts, Irene. For this, Irene received the Community Builder award for December.
The Inspiration award for December goes to Jen Narcisse. Jen’s posts have reminded us to work hard but keep our humor also. The topic that she started, “Funniest fitbit stories”, highlighted some of the things that we are doing amongst ourselves to motivate, challenge and inspire our own communities. It is a common occurrence and most of us can relate to the posts in that thread. Thank you, Jen. Keep it up.
The random prize is awarded to one that has completed the “About Me” section of their profile as well as their profile name. The other important thing is to add ActiveAdmin (active@fnha.ca) as a friend. All of which are in the instructions that are sent along with your fitbit. In December that prize went to George Littlechild from Vancouver Island. He is walking on behalf of his community of Mamalilikala.
A big “Congratulations” to all of our winners in December. We will be in contact and your Fitbit prize will be in the mail as soon as possible.
