Statement from Manitoba Premier-Designate Wab Kinew on Visit to Pimicikamak Cree Nation

Press Release

October 12, 2023

Yesterday I was honoured to make my first official visit outside Winnipeg as premier-designate and was pleased to be welcomed at Pimicikamak Cree Nation (PCN) to congratulate the community on the opening of the Howard Halcrow Health Centre.

In my first official visit to a Manitoba First Nation as premier-designate, I wanted to assure the community we are committed to working to improve birthing and dialysis services in PCN.

While in PCN, I was pleased to visit local schools and shared a message of encouragement with the youth in the hopes they might pursue careers in education and health care.

I look forward to more visits like this, where I can meet with all Manitobans and share our plans for a brighter future.
