Press Release
Northern Health Authority has confirmed positive COVID-19 cases at the LNG Canada Project site in Kitimat, B.C. The affected individuals have been placed in isolation and are being cared for in their homes or at the project’s on-site facilities by medical and support staff. LNG Canada and JGC Fluor are working closely with Northern Health to carry out the contact tracing protocols.
Our efforts are currently focused on the recovery of these affected individuals, the disinfection and sanitization of the impacted work areas, and the well-being of all project workers. As well, we remain committed to protecting the health and safety of the First Nations and community stakeholders neighbouring our project site in Kitimat and Terrace.
We will continue to work closely with Northern Health and related health authorities. The safety of our workforce and those in the surrounding community is our top priority. Attached are some of the safety measures and steps we have in place for the project. More information can be found on the dedicated pages on our websites at www.lngcanada.ca and www.jfjvkitimat.com.
