Haris Khan has a knack for using humour to tackle some serious issues. Khan is a professional comedian and a fourth-year environmental science student in the faculty of science.
He’s co-hosting “Stand up for Mental Health” at the Owl January 28 at 7 p.m. The first part of the evening will have guest speakers talking about mental health and even sharing some of their poetry. The second half of the show will feature stand-up comedy from Khan and Ryan Ash.
Mixing laughs with such a sensitive issue as mental health is nothing new for Khan.
The show on January 28 is the latest in Khan’s “Stand Up” series. Previous shows include Stand up for the Homeless People, Stand up Against Domestic Violence, Stand up for Animal Welfare and most recently, Stand up for Humanity – an evening with the theme of promoting religious tolerance.
