One-time minor infrastructure resources approved for community health service providers

LONDON, ON – The South West LHIN Board of Directors today approved $2,591,531 in one-time funding to assist community sector health service providers make necessary investments in minor infrastructure resources to assist them in meeting service delivery goals.Investment opportunities include minor capital works, equipment, staff training and strategic prioritysetting planning. Specifically, building renovations, equipment maintenance, new resources like vans and accessibility equipment, and information technology to better meet collection and reporting requirements are examples of approved investments.
This funding helps community sector providers address challenges in finding the necessary financial resources to make important investments in their infrastructure. The South West LHIN is pleased to step forward and help providers meet their goals of delivering quality services and care.
The funding for these investments are reallocations of monies that cannot be fully utilized for their specific purpose in community sector budgets. The South West LHIN is taking a proactive stance to see that they are used appropriately. To that end, the LHIN issued an on-line call for requests in support of making minor infrastructure investments in the community sector, and based decisions on a set of criteria shared with the providers in advance.
